  • M/s Gangaramchak Mining Pvt Ltd the SPV of Consortium Ambey Mining Pvt Ltd & Godavari commodities is selected as Mine Developer & Operator for this mine and Coal Mining Agreement was signed on 21.10.2016
  • The mine re-opening permission was obtained from Coal Controller , Govt of India on 29.08.2017
  • The mine was re-opened by WBPDCl on 30.08.2017
  • Removal of overburden started on October 2017
  • Extraction of coal started on April 2018

Brief description of the Mine

The Barjore Coal Mine is located in the Birbhum District of West Bengal State. It is bounded by the latitudes 23o44’35”N to 23o44’55”N and longitudes 87o12’55”E to 87o14’25”E.

The Barjore block is 1.6 km in length and 448 km in width and is located in the eastern part of the Raniganj Coalfield in the district of Birbhum. The block falls in the Kasta area of Eastern Coalfields and covers an area of 0.61 sq. km.

The Barjore coal block is approachable both by rail and road. The area can be approached from both Bhabaniganj and Borjore village through an unmetalled road.

In the Barjore Coal Block the lone workable coal seam Samla Seam (R-III/II) occurs as single composite section of thickness varying from 3.61 m in BRJ-2 to 5.00 m in BRJ-9.

The reserve of the mine is 1.24 Million Tonne
The Average stripping ratio is 1:7
The Peak rated capacity of the mine is 0.5 Million Tonne/ year
