NEW EXPANSION PROJECTS
Sagardighi Thermal Power Project , Phase III Extension Unit 5
Super critical thermal power unit (1 X 660 MW) is under construction. The Project has received clearances from GoWB and Environmental Clearance from MoEF.
The Project Zero Date is 01.07.2020.
Expected 1st Grid Synchronization within February 2025
Main Plant Package comprising of BTG Package, CHP Package, AHP Package, FGD & SCR Packages is being awarded to Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL).
Natural Draught Cooling Tower Package is being awarded to Paharpur Cooling Towers Limited
Chimney Package is being awarded to Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL).
Unit Boiler has been Lighted Up on 06.03.2025. First Unit Synchronization is expected in April -2025.

Santaldih Thermal Power Project , Phase III Extension Unit 7 & 8
It is planned to set up (2 X 800 MW) super critical thermal power units.
Bakreswar Thermal Power Project , Phase III Extension Unit 6
It is planned to set up (1 X 660 MW) super critical thermal power unit.
FLUE GAS DESULPHURIZATION (FGD) PROJECTS
Wet Limestone based scrubbing Units
FGD System Package for Sagardighi Thermal Power Project has been awarded to Larsen & Toubro Limited.
The completion of the Project is expected by July, 2026.
Wet Limestone based FGD System is planned for both the units at Santaldih Thermal Power Station.
Dry Sorbent Injection (DSI) SystemSodium Bi-carbonate injected DSI System project is under construction at Kolaghat Thermal Power Station (Units# 3-6). The system is expected to be operationalized by December, 2024.
Bakreswar Thermal Power Station (Units #1-5) and Bandel Thermal Power Station (Unit#5) shall also be equipped with Dry Sorbent Injection System (DSI) technology for meeting the latest environmental norms on emission of SOx.
RENOVATION AND MODERNIZATION PROJECTS
Kolaghat Thermal Power Station
Kolaghat Thermal Power Station Units (6 X 210 MW) are planned to undergo Renovation and Modernization programme for Kolaghat Thermal Power Station Unit Nos. 3, 4, 5 & 6 is under execution in a phased manner to increase the generation efficiency meeting the existing environmental norms.

ESP Up-gradation
ESP up-gradation Works for Unit Nos. 4 & 5 is planned.
Ash Handling Plant (AHP) Modernization.Wet Ash disposal system for Unit No. 3 has under gone R&M process. Up gradation of Dry Ash disposal system is currently under execution.
