Sagardighi Ther­mal Power Project site is located at Man­i­gram Vil­lage, 13 KM north of Sagardighi town by the side of the SMGR( Sagardighi-​Manigram-​Gankar– Raghunathganj)Road at a dis­tance 20 KM from National High­way 34 in Mur­shid­abad Dis­trict, West Ben­gal and around 240 KM from Kolkata. The near­est rail sta­tion is Man­i­gram on Ban­del– Barhawara branch line and 6.5 KM from Sagardighi Rail­way Sta­tion on Sainthia– Azim­gunj line of East­ern Rail­way.

In the first phase, two units of 300 MW each were syn­chro­nized on 21.12.2007 and 13.08.2008 respec­tively. The Main Plant Pack­age was awarded to DEC, China. For Second Phase, the Main Plant Package was awarded to BHEL.

In the second phase, two units of 500 MW each were syn­chro­nized on 31.03.2015 and 15.10.2015 respec­tively.
For the Third Phase, order have been placed for 1 X 660 MW super critical thermal power unit. Order for main BTG package is placed on M/s. BHEL> Order for NDCT is placed on M/s. PCTL. The Project has received clearances from GoWB and execution shall commence on receiving Environmental Clearance from MoEF.
