WBPDCL WINS ASSOCHAM MOBILE APP UTILITIES AWARD

The West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited (WBPDCL) has won the prestigious Mobile App Utilities Award for Gentrack [Generation & Rake Tracking].

This year at The Leadership Conclave 2022, Excellence Awards for various categories were presented by ASSOCHAM on 05th August 2022.

It is a matter of great joy that WBPDCL bagged Mobile App Utilities award for Gentrack, an in-house developed mobile app for Generation and Rake Tracking by IT Department, WBPDCL.

WBPDCL top and middle management desperately needed a real-time information platform on Electricity generation and Fuel, specially Coal, rake movement, accessible over internet. It was needed for making timely business decisions to maximize the generation, thereby, minimize any power outages. Moreover, this information had to be available online over the internet in a cyber secured manner. In the business of power generation, we have to ensure a steady flow of raw material, here ‘fuel’, ensuring the generation of eletrical power as planned in order to comply to the ABT (Availability Based Tariff) regime. With the above necessity in mind, we embarked on developing a mobile & web application and named it ‘Gentrack’ [Generation & Rake Tracking].

Sri Indranath Chatterjee, Executive Director (Finance & Accounts), WBPDCL Corporate Office received the ASSOCHAM Mobile App Utilities Award on behalf of WBPDCL at a glittering award ceremony held at Hotel AltAir, Kolkata.

LEADING THE NATION-BEST POWER STATION IN INDIA (FY 2021-22)

According to the ranking for the best power stations in the country (FY 2021-22), done by the Central Electricity Authority under the Ministry of Power, Govt. of India, WBPDCL has performed brilliantly.

Santaldih Thermal Power Station of The West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited ranks no.1 (Plant Load Factor 92.79%) on All India Power Generation, out of all thermal power plants in India, for the period April-August 2021.

Bakreswar Thermal Power Station of The West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited ranks no.10 (Plant Load Factor 88.77%) on All India Power Generation, out of all thermal power plants in India, for the period April-August 2021.

West Bengal Best Employer Brand Awards 2021

The West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited (WBPDCL) has been presented the 'West Bengal Best Employer Brand Awards 2021' at the 15th Employer Branding Awards, held virtually on 18 March 2021.

The Awards are hosted by Employer Branding Institute, World HRD Congress & Stars of the Industry Group, and is endorsed by the CHRO Asia. The certification is provided by the World Federation of HR Professionals.

The West Bengal Best Employer Brand Awards 2021 features organizations that are exemplary in HR and use marketing communications effectively for Human Resource Development. It recognizes organizations that has used marketing communications effectively in attracting talent, developing talent and in retention policy. The Awards are intensely researched by Dr R L Bhatia, Founder, World CSR Day & World Sustainability Congress, and are headed by Dr Indira Parikh, Ex-Dean, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

WBPDCL e-Office Inauguration

WBPDCL has recently introduced e-Office in WBPDCL Corporate Office, with the objective to bring in digitization of paper based processes. The e-Office facility was inaugurated on 4th January 2021 by Sri S.Suresh Kumar, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Dept. of Power, Govt of West Bengal in the presence of Dr P B Salim, IAS, Chairman and Managing Director, WBPDCL as well as all Directors, Executive Directors and other high Officials of WBPDCL

E-Office aims at transforming the file move to relatively efficient paperless process which would eventually bring desirable values of transperancy, efficiency, accountability and faster decision making.

WBPDCL awarded ISO 27001:2013 [ISMS] Certificate

The West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited (WBPDCL) has recently been awarded the ISO 27001:2013 Certificate by RIR Certification Pvt. Ltd. for the ISMS (Information Security Management System) of the Organisation. The certification scope covers ISMS for IT & OT operations of WBPDCL head office, all five plants with township and the liason office at New Delhi.

In this connnection, a certificate awarding ceremony was organised on 13 Nov 2020 at the registered and corporate office of WBPDCL, Bidyut Unnayan Bhaban.

At the said programme, Dr P B Salim, IAS, Chairman and Managing Director, WBPDCL was presented the ISO 27001:2013 [ISMS] Certificate by Sri Sushanta Chakraborty, Senior Auditor, RIR Certification Pvt. Ltd. in the presence of all Directors, Executive Directors and other high officials of WBPDCL.

PRCI Excellence Award 2020

The West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited (WBPDCL) bagged four awards at the 10th Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) Excellence Awards 2020 held in Bangaluru - two Gold Awards for Corporate Brochure & Wall Calender and two Silver Awards for Diary & House Journal (Regional), respectively.

WBPDCL won awards in earlier editions of PRCI Excellence Awards for 2018 and 2019 as well, in categories Corporate Brochure, Wall Calender, Diary and House Journal (Regional).

WBPDCL obtained special Commendation Award in the 8th edition International Mining Equipment , Minerals & Metal Exibition 2019 . ( IME 2019 )

Solar Project Awards

1. Solar Roof Series Excellence Award for “Outstanding contribution in promoting Solar Rooftop Sector in the State”-awarded by SOLAR QUARTER a leading Indian solar magazine.
2. SKOCH AWARD on Corporate Excellence 2019 : GOLD award for Solar PV Projects in Thermal Power Plant by Skoch Group, New Delhi.
3. SKOCH AWARD OF MERIT on Corporate Excellence 2019 : GOLD award for Solar PV Projects in Thermal Power Plant by Skoch Group, New Delhi.

PRCI Excellence Award

WBPDCL has bagged three awards at the 9 th Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) Excellence Awards 2019, held at Jaipur. The prestigious PRCI Annual Corporate Collateral Awards for corporate communications are keenly contested by renowned central and state Govt. PSUs and topmost private organizations of the corporate sector alike.

PRCI Crystal Award

WBPDCL received two highest awards, i.e. Crystal Awards, as recognition of WBPDCL’s extraordinary entries for the category of Wall Calendar 2019 and In-House Journal (Print Regional), respectively. It also received the Silver Award for the category of Diary (Big Size 2019).

In 2018 also, WBPDCL had won awards for its entries in the category of ‘Corporate Brochure’, ‘Wall Calendar’, and ‘Diary-Small’. The effective use of Corporate Communications to showcase the company is one of the key factors that helps WBPDCL win the awards time and again.
